This session will share observations, research, and data that demonstrate the need for rapid change in our educational system if we choose to focus on the future needs of our kids while avoiding the trap of evaluation based on a world that no longer exists.  We will show that the system of the past worked exceptionally well, but the future requires dramatically different goals and objectives that cannot be achieved without quick and massive change.

PRESENTER: Cory Kulig, Superintendent - School District of Eleva-Strum

Cory Kulig is in his 7th year as Superintendent of the School District of Eleva-Strum, where he has led the charge in transforming the educational landscape through innovative practices and empowering teachers. Throughout his 23 years in education, Cory has spearheaded initiatives that leverage emerging technology to personalize learning, enhance student engagement, and improve outcomes across the district. Cory's forward-thinking approach has empowered teachers with new tools and resources, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth. He is passionate about creating sustainable, scalable solutions that prepare students for the future. He remains dedicated to his vision of a transformative, AI-driven educational system that equips all students to thrive in a world that continues to evolve.

PRESENTER: Britni Walz, Instructional Services Director - CESA 4

Britni Walz serves as the Instructional Services and Educational Technology Director at CESA 4, leading the delivery of educational services and resources to empower educators and drive student success. With 14 years of experience in education, she is committed to academic excellence and growth. As a high school science teacher, she implemented PBIS and SAIG, laying the groundwork for holistic student development. As a middle school instructional coach and associate principal, she enhanced teaching practices and reshaped school culture through innovative educational strategies. Britni believes that AI in education can transform systems for the benefit of all, enhancing collective efficacy and success. Her expertise in educational technology is instrumental in driving systemic shifts necessary for the reinvention of educational practices, ensuring that both students and educators are well-prepared for the future.

PRESENTER: Jenny Riggle, Director of Student Services Prevention & Wellness, School Psychologist and School Counselor - CESA 4

Jennifer Riggle is the Director of Student Services Prevention and Wellness at CESA 4 in West Salem, WI, serving 26 school districts in western Wisconsin. With 14 years of experience as a school counselor and psychologist in diverse communities, Jennifer is committed to creating equitable systems that meet the needs of an evolving population of students, families, and teachers. In her quest for innovative solutions to entrenched problems in education, she focuses on the utility of AI to solve previously intractable issues. Jennifer believes AI can transform education by enhancing collective efficacy and ensuring students are well-prepared both academically and emotionally.

PRESENTER: Mike Beighley, Superintendent - Whitehall School District

Mike is starting his 28th year as a rural school superintendent in Wisconsin and has a wealth of experience to share based on his work in the area of Emerging Technology and STEM Education in the Whitehall School District as well as his global connections through the Ron and Joyce Wanek Foundation, The Wanek Family and Ashley Furniture Industries.
