DESCRIPTION:

Participants will learn about the growing threat cyber attacks pose to rural Wisconsin school districts' daily operations, including the financial, educational, and data loss often experienced.  Participants will also receive actionable recommendations to reduce exposure and proactively protect their districts while recovering more quickly and efficiently after an attack by understanding the value of cyber incident response planning and a district-led cyber incident response team.

PRESENTER: Corey Koltz, Director of Technology, CESA 5

Corey Koltz is a K-12 technology professional with over 35 years in the field. For the past eight years, he has served as the Director of Technology for CESA 5, an educational service agency supporting Wisconsin schools. Prior to that, he held the position of Director of Technology for two school districts in Wisconsin. Corey has a deep understanding of the challenges facing K-12 schools today.

PRESENTER: Dan Johnson, Cybersecurity Specialist, CESA 5

Dan Johnson is a Cybersecurity Specialist at CESA5 with 35+ years of technology experience in education and business including 19 as a Director of Technology for two Wisconsin school districts. Dan is focused on helping Wisconsin School Districts better protect their technology, people, data, and reputations from cyber attacks through cyber incident response planning and testing.
